Men’s Style Icons: From The Black And White To The 3D Era

There’s so many well-dressed people in the world, and we are fans of all of them. Even if they are a celebrity or just someone who dresses well for their own style, we admire everyone! In this article we want to feature a few style icons from our recent history and pop culture. We went through many decades and styles and made our picks. It’s not a recent thing that men are style icons: for example, Beau Brummel was a 19th century dandy who was known for spending five hours every day on maintaining his look.

We tried to define what makes a style icon. We came up with the definition that a men’s style icon is a man who launched a trend, who made a fashion item his own and who became synonym with great-looking and eventually became a classic. Being a classic means to be someone who never goes out of style and is just as cool today as they were 40 years ago. As Yves Saint Laurent said in his famous quote, “Fashions fade, style is eternal”. This is what these guys have: style.

You might also notice that most of these guys wear really simple outfits. We invite you to read our article on “Why Simplicity Is Always Best“.

The most important thing though that we need to learn from these men is that it’s not so much the clothes that made them style icons, it’s their attitude, which is something we often write about.

So, take a look at our picks of men’s style icons and let us know yours:

Where is Paul? I mean Newman, of course. He said that he made more money with his sauces, than with his films. Anyway, I love him, and I was really sad when he died. He still is the most attractive and charismatic actor I’ve known…and the most handsome man ever.
