7 Things To Look For When Choosing an iPad Case

When we buy new technology, such as new tablets and smartphones we are happy to have them, and just as our homes or bodies, we try protect them and make them look great. There are a lot of options out there and it’s hard to choose when the palette is so wide. This is why today we have put together a few pieces of advice of things to have in mind when buying a new iPad case.

1. Wait until your tablet arrives. Just like you don’t want to buy furniture first, and after that the house, you should wait until you have and have used your iPad a little to determine what kind of case goes best for you and your tablet. You will be able to tell by considering your lifestyle (do you move around a lot with it or do you use it around the house, what type of environment is the environment you use it in: is it neat, dusty, cold, warm, etc). For example if you are working in an archive and making an inventory, you don’t want a white case.

2. Do your research. When you make a quick search, you are sure to find cases that you like but you should probably avoid an impulse buy. There are a lot of choices and you should make sure you don’t get a case you will want to throw away soon. Speaking of that,

3. Try to find something that represents you. There are many standard cases out there, but we think you will like your iPad more if you find a case that suits your own style. For example Berwick DC is a brand that makes special covers, making them by hand and allowing creative freedom. It’s definitely worth looking into.

4. Find a case made out of a fine material. The fabric of your case is very important. Avoid synthetic fibers such as neoprene. It’s best to have a case made out of a fabric that breathes. Doing so will also elongate the life of your tablet by not allowing it to overheat. Using natural fabrics is also important because they are biodegradable and usually last longer than synthetic fibers.

5. Keep it light. Don’t go for a case that will make carrying your device heavier and bulkier. Try to keep it soft.

6. Make an investment. Nowadays, clothes, accessories and iPad covers come in all price ranges. Don’t go for the cheapest, it will probably not last and it will most likely be made out of a cheap fabric. Make an investment, and that doesn’t mean you should buy the most expensive one either.

7. Think of the other accessories and and clothes you have. We always say, things don’t have to match, but they have to go. Being way to inconsistent will eventually give you an inconsistent vibe.

Now that you have these tips, it’s time to start looking for that case that will make your tablet – you!

I like your article about choosing the right case to fit your style. I have an e-commerce site in which I sell high quality leather cases which are lined with faux shearling for added protection: http://www.coficase.com or https://www.etsy.com/shop/LeatherTabletCases. Our two most popular men’s cases are the Brown Cowhide CoFi Case and the Tan Vintage CoFi Case. I love the Pull-up quality of the Brown Cowhide and the rugged feel of the Tan Vintage. Our cases are extremely durable and wear well over time. Thanks again for your article. Best, Stephanie McTigue
