5 Men’s Fall – Winter 2014 -15 Fashion Trends

Autumn is almost here and the trends are out! Designers from all around the world have released their collections for the fall – winter 2014 – 15 season a while ago and now it’s time to look at what will be in this cold season. Let’s take a look at what pieces are going to be trending, what colors and much more!

Following trends is very subjective. Some people like to follow all the trends, others prefer to take one or two and incorporate them in their wardrobe and styling. There are also people who don’t follow trends, but who sometimes find their inspiration in trends and incorporate them in their outfits, even a long while after they are “out”.

Whichever category you might fall into, we’re sure you can find some inspiration in these fall – winter 2014 – 15 fashion trends.

Slim pants

Slim pants have been all over the runways when the collections for the fall- winter 2014 – 15 season were presented. Slim pants usually work well on guys who have slim frames. Remember that slim does not mean tight pants: if you want to wear slim pants this fall, you should always check that you don’t look strangled in your pants or as if they are about to break on you.

If you are a rather bigger guy, you can also follow this trend, but we know that it might be hard to find slim pants in bigger sizes. This is why you can easily adapt the trend and turn it into “fitted pants”. We always say that any pants should be “fitted”, but if you want, you can go ahead and buy a pair that has more shape to it.

Slim pants can be worn regardless of the setting: you can wear them in a casual environment and in a formal setting as well.

Cold colors: Green and Blue

In terms of colors, one of the big trends this fall is the color green. Used generally in darker shades, green is a very versatile color which you can pair with a variety of other colors and which flatters many skin tones.

Wearing green will definitely compensate for the lack of green leaves during the fall and winter. If you are a fan of the color green, you can even create a whole monochrome outfit around it, wearing green from head to toe. What you should know is that wearing different shades of the same color will result in an elegant, sophisticated look that is sure to draw the eyes of the people around you.

Green is a fantastic color, but be reminded that wearing a camouflage print is not considered “wearing green”, unless you wear it very subtly and mix it with other colors.

In terms of cold colors, blue is also trending this fall. This is good news for those who like to mix colors, as green and blue are close to each other on the color wheel and therefore they go together well.

Warm colors: Orange and Red

It might look like a surprise, but the fact that orange is another trending color is quite normal, as orange and green are complimentary colors. Orange is a color that inspires warmth and energy and is quite hard to pull off. However, if you incorporate small orange details in your wardrobe, you can definitely make good use of it. If you have a dark skin tone, you can wear orange from head to toe if you wish: people with such skin tones generally look great in shades of orange or red.

Besides orange, red is also a very big trend according to many designers. And, for those who like to wear analog colors, this is your time, as orange and red are in an analog relation on the color wheel, and therefore look amazing together.

Accessories: Big bags

We always say that men should wear bags just as much as women. It looks like according to several designers, a fashionable man should wear big bags. If you ask us, this is an optional trend if you will, as if you carry a big bag you should have something to carry in it. There is no point in walking around with a huge, empty bag.

If you will be wearing this Gucci bag, it won't go unnoticed. you might, though.

Hairstyles: Wet-looking hair

If you are looking for a hairstyle that has a vintage vibe to it, wet-looking hair seems to be the trend for you. There is a lot of skill that goes into making your hair look wet, but it is definitely worth it. Wearing your hair slicked back or to the side will give you a serious look, as, as you know, having hair that stays in place is always a sign of power and elegance.

Of course, there are many other elements that will be trending this fall and winter, such as military-inspired jackets, leather pieces, quited jackets and much more.  Moreover, always remember that some things such as neutral colors, which are colors that go with anything (these are gray, beige, khaki, tan, black, white, ivory, brown, etc.), jeans, and classic shoes never go out of style and they represent great pieces to invest in. So, now it’s your turn to mix and match trends, timeless pieces and personal elements!

I like the blue coming back in! 🙂 I don’t know what it’s about, but it’s always seemed a manly colour to me and I love seeing men wearing it. I know most of them don’t stray away from neutrals too often 😀

Blue is really a great color and it’s the most “favorite color” according to some studies.
