The Best Menswear Looks from Paris Fashion Week Spring Summer 2017

Paris became the men’s fashion capital between June 22 and 26, as a new installment of Paris Fashion Week too place in the French capital. Paris is known to be the city from which many conceptual and artistic fashions come; and this season, while most of the designs were more on the wearable and practical side, many garments were represented by deconstructed pieces, analyzing the very core of clothing and fashion.

Take a look at the outfits that made our fashion edit:

Kolor

Mixing high and low and obtaining a great fashion effect is not easy, but Kolor definitely made it with this look from their spring-summer 2017 collection. The exquisite pieces, put together with care show that you cannot have a bad outfit when the pieces are great!

Julien David

Mixing sportswear and rich materials, Julien David also offered some great looks including this one, for his spring-summer 2017 collection. We really enjoy the unconventional mix of pieces inspired by boxing clothes, but done in a fashionable kind of way. It’s really interesting where contrast can get you.

Issey Miyake

If there is someone who can make a simple piece of material look incredible, it’s Issey Miyake. His spring-summer 2017 collection was so effortless, relaxed and easy, but so complex and elegant at the same time, that, if we could, we would hand him out an award. Great job!

Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2017

This outfit by Louis Vuitton is really a statement of greatness in fashion. The idea is simple and classic, but the value of the look lies in the impeccable and truly outstanding execution of the outfit and the attention to the details, which makes it more than just a simple and classic piece.

Walter van Beirendonck

Every new fashion season, we are looking forward to seeing what Belgian designer Walter van Beirendonck will showcase. His designs are always stunning, and this season they did not fall short either. With a colorful, boyish and innocent collection, the designer balanced out the soft and the tough.

Haider Ackermann

Playing with color is a concept people often talk about, but only rarely actually do. This risky outfit from the Haider Ackermann spring-summer 2017 collection is a wonderful example of how you can pull off color in an unconventional way and use it in relation to the other elements of the piece: lines, cuts and fabrics. Well done!

Paul & Joe

A monochrome achromatic outfit is pretty hard to create and make it look very stylish. Label Paul & Joe showed just how one can do that: add a great print and make sure the garments fit well and you are all set and ready to go!

Givenchy

This outfit by Givenchy has all the elements that will make someone look rich and polished: cool prints, cool patterns, great colors, great cuts and a very attractive and visually appealing contrast lapel. What more can you ask for?

Pigalle

Pigalle Spring Summer 2017

Regency? Yes. Sportswear? Yes. This Pigalle outfit was very interesting. It’s hard to tell if it’s good or bad from the first sight, which is why it is so appealing. In the end, we decided that we like it, but it really is on the edge.

Roberto Cavalli

Mixing patterns is not an easy task to undertake. For his spring-summer 2017 collection, Roberto Cavalli pulled out all the stops and delivered some impressive mixes of patterns. Besides learning how to mix patterns, what we can all take from this look is that, if you want to wear patterns with solids or mix two or more patterns, the prints themselves should always be of high quality and elegant, as this outfit proves!

Dior Homme

High elegance are the words that describe this outfit from the Dior Homme spring-summer 2017 collection best. It’s rare to see such a stunning look on the runway. And our standards are high.

Lanvin

Deep colors go amazingly well hand in hand as this Lanvin outfit goes to show. We also really love the hint of adventure given by the top part of the pants.

There were a lot of great styles to come out of the French capital this season and we especially liked the colors and prints used by the French, as well as by the international designers. We also loved the fact that many fashion houses worked on offering outfits that were constructed and tailored in an impeccable way. Can’t wait to see how these will translate to the stores and to street fashion.

We are sure you found as much inspiration in these looks as we did – in fact, we’re already thinking of ways to mix the pieces we saw on the French runways.
