The Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2014 Menswear Collection

Indiana Jones, take notes! The Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2014 Menswear collection is the new way to go!

The fantastic collection we will showcase today was designed by Kim Jones. Jones is an avid traveler and traveling has been one of the main sources of inspiration of this collection. He casual suits and formal wear, but with a little twist. Of course, anyone can make a simple suit, but how can you take it to the next level? Adding fantastic accessories and surprising elements seems to have been Jones’ answer.

Classic ties and bow ties were replaced by bandanas, but we could also see rich accessories like cognac colored pouches and Damier printed backpacks. During the show, the runway was dominated by high-hem pants and fancy lace up oxfords in two tone black, brown, or shiny silver.

And as traveling is strongly associated with learning, the school boy was also one of the inspiration sources of the collection. We could see plaid or sharp tailored suits, but also short pants with school-like prints.

In terms of accessories, the collection also features fantastic bags that were big enough for a week-end trip, but small enough to be carried by hand. From the highlights, we can also mention blouson jackets cut from python or crocodile and also a series of tie dye pieces in rich reds and blues.

Basically, it was a collection that brought a fancy new meaning to the world of the scouts. Casual, yet fancy, traveled and cultured but fun and very young at the same time. The collection goes to show that you can mix knowledge and culture with youth and fun, you just need to find the right elements to express that!

Check out the photos and decide for yourself what you make of it.
