5 Style Trends You Need to Know: Autumn 2017

The fashion industry is known for its fickle character. As the old saying goes, fashion is what is offered to you by designers and brands, while style is what you make of it. This is why it is relevant to stay on top of the latest trends, as you never know what is the next big thing you see and want to incorporate in your daily looks. To help you stay on top of the trends, we’re going to list our five style trends that you really need to know about right this minute. So, drop everything and get on these as quick as you can.

90s-inspired sportswear

Some of you might be too young to remember the fuss that was brands like Fila and Champion back in the day, but you’re in luck, as they are back and bigger than ever. Regardless of whether you lived through the 1990s or not, you now have the opportunity to so, as 90s sportswear and 90s aesthetics in general are making a big comeback. In fact, sportswear is often translated into dressy clothes as well, which is a growing trend. Fila and Champion especially have some incredibly cool and recognizable designs that look great in the past and present. So, if you want to pick up some 90s-inspired sportswear, make sure you do it now before it all goes! And if you bought those items way back when and still have them, why not drag them out again.

Smartwatches

You have probably already seen the Apple Watch and thought that it’s simply not for you. Many thought so. The design was too “futuristic looking” and you thought it probably had way more functions than it actually needed. However, Apple isn’t the only brand to try out the smartwatch. Tag Heuer and LG have both brought out some nice models, but we think it’s best to go for a super luxurious brand like Montblanc. Their latest model looks cool and has just enough modern functions to bring it into the 21st century, such as notifications from your phone, interchangeable watch faces, and heart rate monitoring.

Across-the-body bag

These definitely aren’t purses, as some might call them, but instead named anything from “flights bags” to “camera bags.” In short, you don’t have to carry an unwieldy backpack or uncomfortable tote bag, but instead carry your things in these useful and on-trend bags. It’s taken far too long for these across-the-body bags to become acceptable for men to carry, as they really practical and cool.

Round frame sunglasses

Choosing the right frames can be hard, but it doesn’t really have to be. Whilst commonly associated with the hippie movement and Beatles legend John Lennon or with futuristic sci-fi movies, round frame sunglasses are now being linked to purely being a modern and fashionable style of eyewear. The lens colors are varied and fantastic, with deep violets, brilliant blues, audacious yellows, and ice-cool black lenses becoming available. Check your local stores and you’re bound to come across these types of frames.

Hair dye

There often comes a point when you’re just tired and bored with your current hair color. You’ve literally had it all your life and feel like you need a change. Well, it turns out that dyeing your hair has never been more on trend. Platinum blonde, copper brown, pitch black… whatever color you want, get it! Celebrities such as Adam Levine have been known to dabble with a bit of hair dye, so take a leaf from their book and dare to be different.

Being aware of the trends will give you a great sense of what is going on and will serve as great inspiration for your next looks. From sophisticated smartwatches to cool over-the-body bags, there’s a lot to discover this season and incorporate in your wardrobe.
