Hello everyone! It’s fashion time again! Today we want to break down an outfit and say what is good and what is bad about it because we know many of you are in the process of developing your taste. We always talk about how you should do things and what goes with what, so we decided that today we are going to give a really clear lesson. So if you are ready, join us as we go deep in the world of fashion.
We found this complete outfit, put together by Nordstrom, which you can buy here. It is made out of a Pendleton ‘Canyon’ Coat, an Obey ‘The Village’ Woven Shirt and the pants are PRPS ‘Rambler’ Slim Fit Jeans. The suggested shoes are a pair of Wolverine ‘Addison’ Wingtip Boots. 
At first, in order to be able to tell whether an outfit is good or bad, we must think whether it is age appropriate and occasion-appropriate. This outfit definitely goes a big range of ages: from late teens to men in their 30s or even 40s. Also, it is a great casual outfit, to be worn at work, going for a walk or meeting someone you know at a local pub.
The one thing you need to notice is whether the outfit has or not a main piece. In this case, the main piece is definitely the large coat in all those saturated colors. You can see that the colors of the jacket make great contrast: purple – orange, yellow – green! Now, what we want to know is whether the main piece is supported well by the, let’s say, ‘supporting actors’. The blue shirt is really simple, which is good, because it allows the jacket to stand out and therefore it avoids a visual clutter.
The pants are also a good choice. Dark wash jeans are more dressy than light-colored jeans. However, here we could suggest a pair of pants that is in a different color, like one of the colors you see on the jacket, but in a darker shade.
To continue, the shoes are a good choice, but in this case, “lighter” shoes would have worked just as well. Being a casual outfit, the range of shoes that would go with this outfit is very wide. We, however, do not recommend slippers or running shoes, or really glossy evening shoes with this kind of outfit! What is missing here are the accessories. However, when you wear a jacket with such a big print, accessories might create a visual clutter. If you take the jacket off, this outfit is quite plain, so wearing a watch that is hidden by the jacket, but visible when you take it off might be a suggestion to be taken into consideration!
There you have it! This outfit makes a great choice, but not the only one!
