Today we want to focus on just one collection and see what makes it good or bad. As we`ve learned, not all runway shows are fabulous, so we make short analyses of runway shows in order to tell whether a collection is good or bad. As you know, if you have followed our blog or facebook page, 2012 was a year of bright colors and bold fabrics. The Michael Bastian collection for fall 2012 was an example of good fashion. Presented in New York, the fashion`s title was The Extra Man. Someone else said it`s motto was “Lions in Winter”. However you put it though, the collection was really elegant. Michael Bastian was inspired said:” I just love walking around the Upper East Side and seeing those guys who didn’t just take an extra 10 minutes in the morning to get ready, but an extra 40 minutes. This is a kind of valentine to them.” The collection used classic American pieces like a pinstriped suit over a gingham shirt. It is obvious that these clothes are dedicated to men who are not afraid to draw attention and who like a luxurious outfit. And we like a luxurious outfit. We loved the colors, the textures and the fabric. And these three things are basically the… fabric of fashion: if you have good fabrics in a good texture and/or color, that`s fashion. And it should fit the occasion and all those other pieces of advice we give around the site. So, here are a few photos from the glamorous collection and why we love them!
We hope you like them just as much as we do!
Which one is your favorite?

Thank you so much! Best wishes! We hope you drop by in the future.
Michael Bastian has great stuff. His clothes fit so well. I also like how he pushes the envelope each season, but not too much. The “purple and blue” is a great example. It plays off the colorful trousers trend, but in an elegant move forward. Not a hacky “met too”. Well done MB.
We`re happy you like and appreciate these outfits as much as we do!
This collection is great, but it would have been better without the pinstripe suits – little too 1960!
Maybe so. The collection featured more looks than these, we made this selection and you can make your own! This is why fashion is great!
