February is award season. Europe gave out their awards, America started with the Grammys and now finally the most expected red carpet and award show of the year, the Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars. The 85th edition of the Oscars honored the best movies of the past year. The ceremony took place at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California. Life of Pi went home with most awards, but Argo was the movie that won for “best picture”. Daniel Day-Lewis won a third best actor award, the most an actor ever got. Seth MacFarlane was the host of this year’s ceremony.
But the Oscars are not just an award ceremony or a celebrity gossip show. They are also a very special kind of fashion show: a fashion show where not one, but a lot of famous people model for great fashion houses and designers.
We noticed that, just like at the European Cesars, most men wore bow ties, which we think it’s great! While most men wore black suits, we can do a “who wore it best?” poll. But, if we look closer, we can notice that although almost everyone wore black and white, it was the shapes and fabrics that made the clothes unique.
Here are some of our picks: who was the best dressed?

Channing looked so great 🙂
We agree, yup!
It seems to me that black and white outfit is the perfect solution for this type of ceremony. Bow tie is a intresting alternative but well designed tie is a great touch throughout the styling.
Yes, we think that black and white outfits are going to be the standard for quite a few more years at least.
Oh Channing! He is just amazing. Enough said 🙂

It’s so interesting how everyone like Channing so much!:P
I’ve always preferred men in the bow ties with the tuxedos- so traditional and dapper. I was never a fan of the black silk tie look.
Do you think it’s more elegant or just a matter of shape?
Who doesn’t love the classic black tux look (and Channing Tatum)?! But I would like to see a little more than a hint of color every once and a while…in my opinion. Great post! Check out my blog!
