What Makes a Quality Wallet? (B)

There was a saying: it’s money in the bank. Well, we want to rephrase it and say :”A good wallet is money in the… well, wallet”.

It’s true. The wallet you carry can influence the way you look by influencing the way you feel! A stressed person has bad skin, hair and overall look. We recently wrote an article on choosing wallets, but there are some unanswered questions that remain. Basically, we know what types of wallets there are out there and the practical differences between them, but the main question is, how to be able to tell which one is a quality wallet and which one is a poor quality wallet.  So, we want to break down a few points for you, which will help you learn to tell a good wallet apart from a not so good one.

It’s important to be able to tell whether a wallet is good or not. Just because a piece is expensive, it doesn’t mean that it’s well-crafted and will last long. Here’s what you need to look for when you choose a wallet:

First of all, you need to look for a design that is really elegant and simple. A simple yet elegant design is what you want to look for in a wallet. If it has too many compartments, zippers, this, that etc., then it’s too crowded. Derojun wallets, for example, are wallets that actually make a good example of well-crafted wallets that meet all of our criteria.

Second of all, you want to look for the fine touches. Great wallets are actually elegant and nice not just because of their shape, but because of their colors and fabrics as well. It’s really special to have a leather wallet that has a color on the outside and another on the inside, such as the Derojun wallet in the picture.

Now, if  you have more types of leathers, and, even if you only have just one, you need to look for the way it is stitched. Good wallets have fine, yet strong stitches.

When it comes to wallets, size does matter (you’ve never heard this cliché before). A good wallet is, when closed, about 4.5 inches by 3.5 inches. A wallet that’s too small might not suit all the things you need to put in it and therefore make you need another thing to carry your documents, and one that is too big, well, you won’t have room for it in your pocket or it will be uncomfortable carrying a brick around all day long.

High-quality wallets have a natural fold to them, they are not hard to use. If you ever had a bad wallet, you know what we mean.

Even though it’s important to consider the occasion you will be wearing your wallet at, choosing a more classy wallet for a formal event, and a sports one for a walk around town, most men prefer to have one wallet that is good to go! The wallets we mentioned earlier (which you can see in the picture) make actually good wallets for almost all occasions.

The last thing we want to talk about is price. As much as we would like to deny this, you can’t get a great wallet for a very low fee. We would say something over $50 is already a great wallet, as this price covers the fabrics, the manufacture, the concept and the fees. You can’t get all these things and expect to charge less. Of course, wallets that have exaggerated prices are usually just… wallets with exaggerated prices. Don’t forget, a more expensive wallet will last longer and you need it every day.

So, get a great wallet for yourself, and don’t forget, whether it’s a bi-fold or a tri-fold, it needs to suit your needs and personality.

I’m happy even though I hadn’t been aware of these things before, I chose the right kinds of wallets. However, now that I have already read this article, I’d surely be more selective! Thank you for this great post!

I really like three-fold wallets and think they are good for people who carry lots of cards and so, which is almost everyone these days!
