The Men of the 2016 People’s Choice Awards

The awards season kicked in with the People’s Choice Awards, which was held on January 6 2016 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California. The ceremony, which was hosted by actress Jane Lynch, was, as usually, broadcast on CBS in the United States.

Since the first edition in 1975, the People’s Choice Awards have recognized the people and the work of popular culture and relied on votes by the general public for deciding who will take home the distinctions.

The show offers awards for categories such as “Favorite TV Show”, won this year by “The Big Bang Theory”, “Favorite Comedic TV actor”, won this year by Jim Parsons and Favorite Action Movie Actor, won by Chris Hemsworth.

In recent years, awards shows have also added a strong component to them with the big focus that is being placed on the red carpet and performing clothes worn by celebrities.

Because celebrities and their clothes always make for good examples of what to wear and what not to wear, we have put together a roundup of a few of the most significant menswear looks from this year’s People’s Choice Awards.

Here it is:

Chris D’Elia

Comedian Chris D’Elia wore a very classic, simple and timeless suit. His outfit choice shows that a classic suit that fits well and is made from high-quality fabrics can work for any type of setting and will make you look polished and elegant. Moreover, what you can learn from Chris’ outfit is that when you are wearing a jacket that has two or more buttons, you should always leave the lowest one unbuttoned.

Chris Hemsworth

Actor Chris Hemsworth was one of the best-dressed guys at the 2016 People’s Choice Awards. Dressed in a simple black shirt, paired with a pair of black jeans and structured with a belt that was well-proportioned to his body frame and size, Chris was one of the best-dressed guys from the awards ceremony. We loved the fact that he opted for an open collar and brown shoes, which dressed down an outfit that would have otherwise been to dressy for an occasion such as the People’s Choice Awards.

Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp is known for his good acting skills, good looks and original style. For the People’s Choice Awards, Johnny showed us once again what it means to have true style, by using accessories to create a look that is his own. With a series of chains, big earrings, a hat and fun sunglasses, Depp reminded his fans what makes him so unique and charming.

Ed Westwick

British actor Ed Westwick sported a really great gray suit. His choice is a good reminder that gray, navy and charcoal suits make great, young alternatives to the classic black suit. Moreover, we loved the way he accessorized the outfit, by adding a pocket square to break up the monotony of the gray stripes suit and a pair of brown leather shoes, to make the look more casual. Also, opting for no neckwear and an open collar also made Ed occasion-appropriate and stylish at the same time.

Frankie Grande

Dancer Frankie Grande showed his explosive personality through an explosive look. The shiny light-teal suit worn by Frankie was matched to his light blue – dark blue shoes. The match was a good one, but the overall look of the outfit was a little too striking in our opinion. However, we liked Grande’s accessories and well-groomed hair very much.

Tyler Posey

Tyler Posey, known mostly from his role from the TV series “Teen Wolf” went very casual at the People’s Choice Awards this year. While his outfit was not spectacular, it was a good outfit that proves that sporty, casual clothes can look great and maybe even a bit ceremony-appropriated if they fit well. The belt was a nice touch, which we thought worked really well and made Tyler look more structured.

The People’s Choice Awards are just the first awards ceremony from a series that will go on from now until spring. We’re looking forward to seeing new and exciting fashions on the red carpet, to draw inspiration from the best looks of the season and to learn from the misses.

What celebrity do you want to see most this season on the red carpet?
