When your significant other’s birthday is coming up, you may sometimes feel a bit confused and overwhelmed when looking at the prospects of gifts and things to do. On some occasions, it can be pretty clear what to get your wife or girlfriend, but sometimes it’s tough to figure out what to gift, what she wants, where to buy and how to set up everything. Planning a romantic gift sometimes end up in unusual thoughts which wreck the flash of surprise. However, sometimes, keeping it simple can be the best way to go. Consider something timeless like a clutch leather bag, a stylish yet practical accessory she can use on both casual outings and formal events. Here are some other ideas of what you can do or buy for your wife on her special day.
Jewelry
The number one go-to gift for women, which is most likely to get a positive reaction, is of course jewelry. A necklace, a bracelet, earrings, or any other piece of adornment such as a watch, is highly likely to be welcomed by your wife or girlfriend. You can explore options like sterling silver cross pendants, which are both elegant and meaningful. Crosses symbolize faith, hope, and love – all sentiments that you want to convey to your partner. The reason why jewelry is a great idea is not only because women like jewelry, but also because jewelry is generally a symbol for appreciation and for a lasting connection. After all, there is a famous slogan that says “diamonds are forever”.
A gifts basket
If you cannot decide on one thing, you can go for, well… everything. Who doesn’t like to go through many smaller or bigger gifts and to discover an eclectic mix of things? In this sense, a gift basket containing many, different things can be a nice idea for a gift, as you would offer not only the items themselves, but the experience of the discovery as well. You may even wrap each thing individually to make the whole thing more exciting. If you don’t have a lot of ideas, you can go to a gift shop, a book store that also offers cool gifts or order gifts online from trustworthy sources (always make sure to check the reviews a site gets before purchasing from them).
Wallet or bag
Women are very much focused on what they wear and on what they carry along with them. Getting a stylish wallet or bag can be a great idea, as it has a daily use and she will think of you every time she uses it. If in doubt regarding the style of the bag or wallet, you can ask for a trustworthy friend (who knows what she’s talking about) about what would make a great pick.
Gift card
A gift card may be something rather impersonal, so offering something like this to your wife could raise an eyebrow or two. However, gift cards can be a good idea if your SO is not someone who likes receiving gifts or who does not want to put a big emphasis on her bday. In this regard, a gift card is a considerate idea.
A dinner date
Last, but certainly not least, the dinner date. Dinner dates are the best time to spend together celebrating a special day. Plan for a candlelight dinner in her favorite restaurant and let her know ahead of time what you’ve planned, so she can prepare. If possible, you can even ask the manager to play songs she likes in the background.
Alternatively, you can even do the whole dinner at home. You may even prepare the meal yourself (or half of it) and get a nice cake to end things on a sweet note. If you can’t really do all the cooking and baking, you can even order a cake online. As a special touch, the cake can have more special shape; from the classic heart shape to something coming right out of a cake baking show, especially if it reflects her passions or hobbies.
A birthday is all about celebrating someone and about taking the time to express your relation to that person, so whatever you choose to do, whether it’s a vibrant flower arrangement or trip to Paris for two, make sure to make it not just special, but above all, personal.
