Tech Meets Fashion: A Fashionista’s Take on Wearable Technology

The best thing about tech is that it isn’t limited to our homes and our offices, but it is slowly creeping its way into our everyday lives. We rely more on technology than we realize it, and the same can be said for wearable technology as well.

Technology and fashion

Over the years, we have been introduced to various wearable products that have made our lives a lot easier. For instance, smart watches and smart bands have slowly replaced the traditional analog watches we used to wear.

The question is, can wearable tech replace traditional fashion? Let’s find out!

It Needs an Internet Connection to Sync

Wearable tech doesn’t ask for much to work. All it needs is a reliable internet connection, so all your devices can sync their data with your smartphone. This way, you can keep up to speed with essential data such as your heart rate, workouts, stress levels, and so on.

However, you need to have a reliable internet connection in order to smoothly link and sync your wearable tech to your smartphone. In my case, I found Xfinity Internet to be a great option, especially while I use my devices at home. Not only is it perfect for my wearable tech, but it is great for all my smart home devices, too.

As a bonus, I get free access to millions of WiFi hotspots all across the U.S., which means that I can sync my data wherever I go.

Smartwatches

First up on the list, we have the good old smartwatches.

Not only do they offer you a lot of convenience, but they can help you make a fashion statement as well. For instance, you can pick out the dial size that looks the best on your wrist, not too big and not too small. Similarly, most smartwatches come with a stainless-steel body, and you can choose between colors like silver and black, depending on your preference.

Smartwatches also come with customizable watch faces that you can change according to your outfit. For instance, if you’re in formal attire, you can change your watch face to an analog one. However, if your outfit is more casual, you can set a digital watch face and change the color according to the clothes you are wearing.

If you want to add another interesting touch to your smartwatch, then you can buy a couple of different colored straps for yourself and change them after a while, so you can flip the script on what your smartwatch looks like.

Smart Jewelry

If you pick out the right kind of jewelry for yourself, it can look great on both men and women. Keep in mind that you can’t go wrong with smart jewelry since all of it looks as appealing as it possibly could. For instance, you can get smart rings for yourself that fulfill the purpose of a fashion statement and also help you keep your health in check.

Most smart rings come with an integrated heart rate sensor so that you can note any ongoing fluctuations in your heartbeat. In case of an anomaly, you can inform your doctor know that you are having irregular heartbeats. The best part is, you could wear the ring and no one would ever know that you are wearing a smart device.

Fitness Bands

If you can’t invest in a smartwatch, you can always get a fitness band or tracker instead. In fact, Samsung has produced a series of fitness trackers that come in interesting colors, such as pastel pink, which can go well with many of your outfits.

While a fitness band isn’t able to make calls and send texts, it can track your fitness just like a smartwatch would. The best part is that these devices track and sync data in real-time as well, making sure you stay ahead of your health schedule.

You can also track your workouts to achieve the maximum output from a fitness band.

Wearable Experiments

Some devices are currently in development and are in the pipeline for release. For instance, Wearable Experiments is a company that works on products that are believed to be out-of-the-box. They introduced an article called the Fan Jersey, which allows you an even more immersive experience as you watch your favorite football games.

You connect to the Jersey via Bluetooth, and the haptic vibrations in the shirt occur with the game, which makes you feel like you are a part of the game too.

It provides an emotionally exhilarating experience, especially for die-hard fans of the sport. You can also use the Jersey later as a fashion statement, so you can show the world that you are a true fan. Right now, this is just the start, and we’ll have to wait and see what they have next in line for us.

This concludes my list of wearable devices that can work perfectly as a fashion statement as well. Safe to say that tech and fashion most definitely do go hand in hand.
