Thoughts on Clothing and Attitude: Quotes from the InCompany by Attire Club Autumn 2016 Issue

This October, Attire Club has launched the third issue of the InCompany by Attire Club magazine, which was the first autumn issue. The issue, which was covered by stylist, designer and entrepreneur Chance Okonski, featured a series of style guides, interviews and features.

The cover story focused on Chance’s work with his brand KIE and his upcoming project. We won’t share what that is, you’re going to have to get the magazine to find out what’s in store for the Texas trendsetter.

Other interviews looked at the careers and inspiration of models Edigio Bencivenni and Raphaël Say. Desinger Rachel Park gave a touching interview on her career, but that also focused on the severe struggles she had with cancer.
In the Fashion and Technology sections, we looked at the Magic Mirror, a project that allows you to try on clothes without actually trying them on. We think that this could be the future. If everyone had such a mirror at home, online shopping would change forever.

Also, in a compelling interview Aniela Hoitinik of Neffa discusses how she manages to create clothes from mushroom roots.

As usually, the magazine features the latest trends, our mood board and a travel guide. This time around, it’s all about the Greek isle of Corfu. Above that, we also dedicate a special feature to MuseumsQuartier Vienna Fashion Week, Austria’s main fashion event.

We have selected some quotes from the over 100 pages of the issue, which once again shape the fashion and culture of today.

Discover them below:

“I was really focused to put all my creativity in my studies and I became an outsider in my school.” – Daniel Klaus Mwangi, Fashion Designer and Stylist

“[On his Instagram account] Some people like it, some offer compliments, some think it’s a hoax and some are being dismissive of it.” – Lior Haim, Instagram Star

“My advice to everyone is to learn to listen to everything around you” – Edigio Bencivenni, Model

“One of the hardest things about chemotherapy was losing my taste buds, so it’s been really exciting to be able to taste good food again.” – Rachel Park, Designer

“Believe in yourself; it all starts from there.” – Rachel Park, Designer

“[On modeling] When you’re doing this job you are stigmatized and idolized at the same time. In this environment, these terms are almost synonymous. Because it’s a job related to image, you are constantly judged for your physique first and at the same time, your body is your work tool.” – Raphaël Say, Model

“I would definitely say it’s difficult at times to maintain a personal life outside of owning your own business. Truthfully, my main focus has been growing my businesses the past two years and chasing other dreams in what free time I do have. However, when I’m not working I have an incredible group of friends that I’m lucky enough to surround myself with on a daily basis. We always manage to have a great time together!” – Chance Okonski, Stylist, Designer and Entrepreneur

“Social media plays a key role these days in connecting people with just about everything. It has definitely been a platform I try to utilize as much as possible, however, there are times where it can become a double edge sword if you allow it.” – Chance Okonski, Stylist, Designer and Entrepreneur

“Style is about becoming comfortable with who you truly are, and allowing yourself to express that through articles of clothing.” – Rishi Chullani, Menswear Afficionado and Entrepreneur

“My aim is to make textiles more alive in combination with technology and microbiology.” – Aniela Hoitinik, Fashion Designer and Innovator

“I am interested in the changeability of textiles and how textiles can react on the wearer, even help the wearer to be more aware. So for example the Chameleon mood scarf makes the wearer more aware of what is happening around and with her.” – Aniela Hoitinik, Fashion Designer and Innovator

“If we take away all green things and mountains, what do we have? Nothing…” – Evgeni Kolesnik, Photographer
