In honor of the World Cup taking place this year in Brazil, we thought of how soccer or football for Europeans, connects with clothes. Of course, it’s all about the uniforms and this is why we decided to share with you an inforgraphic on what the standard soccer kit look like in the future.
During the last years, the focus was placed on innovation as well, but more on broadcasting innovation than on equipment innovation. We remember seeing for the first time a HD camera and gazing at the crystal-clear picture probably in the same way people gazed when they first saw a color film.
In sports, the focus has been always placed both on broadcasting technology but also on the wearable technology. We are very big fans of technology and gadgets and how they are incorporated in clothes! If until now tech and soccer have met only in a quite safe place (better fabrics, better shoe design, cooler t-shirts, etc.), now it looks like the creators of sports clothes want to incorporate veritable gadgets taken from a sci-fi scenario in the clothes worn by players.
Take a look at the inforgraphic and enjoy! We are big fans of the impact visualizer and the low visibility detector and feel that they can be included in other areas of living as well! Many of these ideas can be incorporated into day-to-day living should they be put into practice. Not sure how the player camera would work, (what director can manage an additional 24 cameras?), but time will tell.
What is your favorite idea you’d want to see incorporated into the beautiful game?
Fraquoh and Franchomme
P.S. Which one of these technologies would you like to see put into practice and even use? Are you a big fan of soccer? Share your comments below!

The offside indicator, of all the rules the offside rule is the trickiest. The referee really has to be at the right side to spot an offside position, you know I love soccer with a passion, can´t wait for the World Cup to start. Cheering for Germany! 🙂
Hy Kajsa, didn’t know you were a soccer fan, you are sure going to have a blast watching the World Cup!
I think the uniform with the players camera could actually add a more interesting point of view to an already amazing game. With this added angle the camera controlers, if you will, are able to televise a game that plays almost like a movie.
The advertisements on the uniforms, might be to distracting.
It would be interesting to see these ideas put in practice, but, as you say, some could work better than the others…
Live stats player will be cool haha!

Saskia! xo
It sure would!
The communication idea seems interesting, but I think some players could get pissed at the coach literally yelling in their ear!
Now that’s communication :P!
However, we feel they would do it in practice first! 🙂
While some of these are useless (hearing your coach in your ear) others are quite useful, such as the offside indicator!
we agree, while are ideas are interesting, some are a little overthought!
While most of these won’t probably become a reality, some might – for example the offside indicator!
Most likely many won’t become a reality, but there are no bad ideas in brainstorming, and this is what this infographic basically is.
