A Look at the Men’s Fashions from the 2015 MTV European Music Awards

The MTV European Music Awards were held on 25 October at the Mediolanum Forum, near Milan, Italy. It was the third time the awards took place in Italy and the second time that Milan was the city that hosted the events. In fact, the 2015 MTV EMAs were held at the exact same venue as the 1998 MTV EMAs.

The hosts of the shoe were Ed Sheeran and Ruby Rose, and, as usually, the awards show was a star-studded event.

The voting processes that decided who the winners were, were vary varied: two of the awards (for Best Vide and Video Visionary Award) were offered by the MTV Music Editorial Team, all other awards involved the MTV audience, who voted through apps, websites and by hashtagging on different social media sites.

In a way, it was a battle of the fans, so the fact that Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift were among the winners did not come as such a big surprise.

The European Music Awards also offer awards for best European act by country, for best Asian act by country for best African act by country, as well as for best Australian and New Zeeland act and for Latin American acts as well.

The MTV European Music Awards also has a red carpet ceremony, where the world’s favorite stars walked, displaying themselves and their clothes to the worldwide media.

Besides from the dresses, which always take the spotlight, there were some interesting looks that the male celebrities rocked as well in one of the world’s fashion capitals.

These looks can serve as an inspiration for layered autumn outfits that feature a good dose of swag. After our comments, you can vote for your favorite:

Justin Bieber

Dressed in an outfit that featured a few shades of red, Justin Bieber was a good match for the red carpet. Even though we felt that his outfit was a little too casual for an awards show, what we liked about it was that Justin showed everyone how you can make sporty clothes look fabulous. We found that the white shoes were a nice touch as well.

Ed Sheeran

Host Ed Sheeran was one of the dressiest men at the 2015 MTV EMAs. Wearing a fitting three-piece suit mixed with a pair of sneakers, Ed’s look is a great lesson in style on how you can dress down a conservative outfit, such as a classic suit. We really liked the fact that Ed went for a suit, but we were not very excited with the watch, as it was a bit too much for a dressed down suit.

DJ R3WIRE

Sporting a cool leather jacket, DJ R3WIRE showed that some pieces go almost anywhere. Opting for clothes that feature a simple aesthetic, DJ R3WIRE let his personality shine instead of his clothes. We really liked the way the DJ created cohesiveness in his outfit by wearing a white shirt, a white watch and white shoes and we also loved the fact that he chose to wear clothes that were fitted, even though they seem a little loose, but we were not very big fans of the fact that he wore a little too many accessories. The chain, the pants chain and the hat were a little too much for an outfit that already had a watch and a pair of bulky shoes.

Josh Dun and Tyler Josep

Being in line with the sporty vibe of the event, Josh Dun and Tyler Josep wore very casual clothes. While we loved the fact that one could tell that their outfits were thought through and we loved Josh’s sweater and Tyler’s jacket, we felt that their outfits were a little too casual, even for an MTV awards show. In a way, if the women wear nice dresses, the men should do an effort too, and wear clothes that are on the same step. But, if you can rock an abstract-seemingly octopus jacket, you get a pass from us.

Gregg Sulkin

The 23 year-old British actor took the awards ceremony very serious and we loved that about him! Wearing a simple suit with a plain, unaccessorized shirt, Gregg Sulkin looked great on the red carpet and was one of our favorites. This is how one should dress for a casual, yet special occasion such as the MTV European Music Awards. We loved the fact that Gregg did not wear tie and that he wore brown shoes, which dressed down the look, but we were not very excited with the dark gray vibe of the suit – something more cheerful would have looked a little better.

As you can see, it looks like the unofficial dress code of the MTV EMAs among men was casual, sporty and red or black. We think that these looks can serve as inspiration the next time you want to put on a casual, yet fun outfit for the fall that will keep you stylish and warm.
