Fashion should be all about having fun and self-expression. It is a medium everyone makes use of, so why shouldn’t you make the best of it?
Sometimes, dressing up can become routine, monotone and downright boring. This is why it is important to mix things up once in a while. To help you do just that, we have composed a guide that gives you the tools you need to easily take your outfits to new heights.
Without further ado, here are the 4 types of outfits you should definitely try soon:
Contrast pieces
Wearing contrasting clothes makes for a look that will have people notice you. Complementary color schemes make for good casual outfits. Therefore, if you want to engage people visually, you can mix and match colors that lie on opposite sides of the color wheel, such as blue and yellow, green and orange, etc.
For a special touch, you can wear a bold color in your outfit and add a contrasting accessory that will complete the outfit. That can really make a good impression, so why don’t you try it?
Prints and patterns
While prints and patterns are highly visible in menswear collections, they rarely make it to the streets. There are some simple reasons for this: men don’t want to be emasculated, as they think prints are for women and gay men or they simply don’t know how to wear them. While the first issue is one of personal introspection, and we won’t go into that now, we can definitely help with the second one.
Prints and patterns can be easily worn if you pair them with a nice neutral. Any print and pattern will go with a solid piece in any of the following colors: beige, gray, black, white, ivory, tan, khaki, brown, dark blue.
Monochrome
A monochrome outfit composed of well-fitting pieces is something every man should wear every once in a while. A monochrome look will make you look tall and lean and will draw the focus on your personality and natural features.
The trap with monochrome outfits though is that they can tend to become rather boring and bland. To break a monochrome outfit down and make it more appealing you can do a few tricks: First, you can make use of layering and wear several piece on top of each other to add depth and dimension to the outfit and secondly, and this is something quite risky, but that can bring amazing results; you can mix high and low pieces. For example, why don’t you wear a great black undershirt with a fitted evening dinner jacket?
Traditional
Whether you are adding just some traditional details, derive a modern look from a popular costume or go full-on ethnic, you should definitely include some traditional pieces in your looks. Ethnic and traditional clothes are so rare these days that just putting them on will give you an experience. They also make amazing conversation starters, so they are a good idea to go if you are rather shy or don’t know what to discuss with people.
Having fun with fashion is really important, being comfortable in your clothes will give you a great attitude and outlook on life and will make you ready to be yourself.
