EXO
Korean band EXO went for a black-based scheme, where each of the guys added his own accents and details that made him stood out, while they kept a cohesive aesthetic as a group. For EXO fans, these outfits can serve as great inspiration (especially with the winter holidays approaching), as they show you can look both stylish and sophisticated, but unique and youthful.
GOT7
The GOT7 boys went for a black and white band look that was well balanced across the members of the multinational K-pop group. We really enjoyed the way the band spread the black and white across the members of the band and that they focused on a balanced and coherent group look.
Jang Hyuk
Actor Jang Hyuk went for a very elegant look at the 2016 MAMA. His evening attire consisted of a classic evening suit, which suit him very well. As a fashion lesson, every man should know that having a great go-to suit is a must, as a good suit goes in any festive context.
Lee Byung Hun
Korean actor Lee Byung Hun went for a classic suit with a white jacket featuring a cool texture. Going for a white jacket is always a smart move for a celebrity and it can be for you as well: it photographs well, it draws the right kind of attention and, worn with black pants, it adds structure to your look.
MONSTA X
The seven MONSTA X guys were some of the most dapper guys at the Mnet Asian Music Awards. Wearing colors, texture and shine, the guys had some pretty good looks. Great job!
NCT Dream
Teen boy band NCT Dream stayed true to their band’s aesthetic and went all young and school-like. The slightly oversized clothes made them look young and fun, which is what the group’s image is all about. Well done.
Park Bo Gum
Actor Park Bo Gum went for quite the opposite everyone else did and wore an all-white suit with black accents here and there. It was a good choice as the suit fit him well and the black details completed it and added visual interest.
Park Seo Joon
Park Seo Joon went for a dark look, but that was also very interesting and visually appealing. The details such as the texture, the lapels and the bow tie completed the actor’s look. It was a very event-appropriate suit and we salute his choice.
SEVENTEEN
The SEVENTEEN boys went for dressy jackets at the 2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards. While a part of the group went for matte, brighter jackets, the other part went for shiner, darker jackets to compensate. The result was definitely a good and balanced result.
SF9
It was a festive evening for the SF9 boys who wore either bright red jackets or clan white ones. To match as a group, the guys went for matching neckpieces, which were very dynamic and added dimension to their outfits.
Dean
Music superstar Dean wore a great leopard print coat at the 2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards. The piece was so bold that it did not need any strong or pointing accessories. It simply went well with casual shoes and pants and with small neck chains.
Crush
And last, but certainly not least, singer Crush went for the shine and the sheen. Wearing a gold sparkling jacket, shiny pants and a statement metallic belt buckle, he was stage-ready. While the outfit could be described as a bit much, it does go in the context of a televised music awards show context.
The 2016 MAMA were a place of great style, both for groups and individuals. In fact, this is what we enjoyed most about the event: the fact that the groups had looks for their groups, which were balanced by the looks of the individuals. In other words, the group defined the parts and the parts defined the group. And that is what good aesthetics is all about.

The 2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards were definitely a great show, both from a spectacle point of view and from a sartorial point of view. It’s always fascinating to see events that get people highly involved and the styles that appeal to so many.
