H1 Full Gold by HYT
For their H1 Full Gold model, HYT is exploring the world of precious metals, presenting its first ever case made in 18K pink gold. This material is what drives the whole aesthetic of this watch, but there is a lot more to it than gold. For the very first time, the fluid hours indicator of the H1 Full Gold is also black. The basic concept of the HYT brand consists in replacing the hours hand with a colored fluid that moves up and down in a capillary: a less than one-millimeter glass tube. This deep black liquid moves forward steadily until 6 PM and then switches to retrograde mode and flows back to its initial position (6 AM). Only 50 pieces of this watch were made, but that is what makes it even more special.
Slim d’Hermès L’heure impatiente by Hermès
The gorgeous Slim d’Hermès L’heure impatiente  combines technical precision with a childlike charm. The watch allows its wearer to set the counter of the watch to the time of an eagerly awaited event that will take place in less than 12 hours. An hour before it occurs, the mechanical hourglass is set in motion at 6 o’clock on the dial. When the time comes, the wait culminates as the single note rings out, its lasting, soft sound delightfully modulated for the wearer’s ears only. The playful and quirky ‘Impatient Hour’ complication is based on this companionable rapport, in a module just 2.2 mm thick. Talk about a great watch!
Sculpted Gold Tourbillon 1/1 by Artya
Inspired by a passion for Neo-Renaissance ornamental engraving, the Sculpted Gold Tourbillon 1/1 by Artya was decorated by master-engraver Bram Ramon with his famous ®Prismacut Art technique. This consists of transferring the motif to the steel dial, then hollowing out cavities for the platinum inlays, before sculpting and shaping achieved by means of relief gold leaf inlays hammered into the cut-outs. Once the outlines are traced, the lengthy engraving work can begin. The entire surface is then blued to highlight the contrasts of this bas-relief motif. Bram worked with ArtyA founder Yvan Arpa for this watch, which is mechanically hand-wound, and features a flying tourbillon exclusive to ArtyA, 19 jewels, 21,600 vib/h, circular-grained bridges adorned with Côtes de Genève, 100-hour power reserve.
Place Vendôme – Tourbillon suspendu Ici et Ailleurs by Czapek
François Czapek, spiritus rector of the brand, opened a boutique in the mid-nineteenth century in the beautiful Place Vendôme in Paris. This place, which is still one of the epicenters of luxury in the world, was the inspiration for this watch. This masterpiece comes together with a second time zone for the modern world traveler, a day / night disk, and a classic power reserve indictor. Even with these new functionalities, lovers of the brand will easily recognize the watch’s unusual look with the two subdials at 7:30 and 4:30. On the Place Vendôme, a third has been added at 12 o’clock to display the time.
Astronomia Solar by Jacob & Co.
Setting a new standard in astronomical watches, the Astronomia Solar by Jacob & Co. is the brand’s first-ever reproduction of all eight planets on a dial around a majestic Sun, formed by a citrine displaying the 288 facets of the Jacob Cut®. The hand-engraved Earth rotates around its axis once every 60 seconds and makes one complete revolution of the dial in 10 minutes. This watch is an incredible piece that any collector who has a passion for the sky will want to have.
HM Perpetual Moon by Arnold & Son
Arnold & Son is a brand known for its watches with astronomical indications. The HM Perpetual Moon watch, which is part of the brand’s Royal Collection features the most accurate moon phases on the market, with just one day’s deviation every 122 years – at which point a single push on the corrector will keep it in sync for another 122 years. Not only is it a technical marvel, but it is also exquisite from an aesthetic point of view: it has a 29 mm moon phase disc, which goes from 10 to 2 o’clock on the dial, being one of the largest moons on the market – with a diameter of 11.2 mm for the moon alone. This big moon is one of the most compelling recreations of the moon because it is a three-dimensional sculptured moon that was firstly hand-engraved and afterwards duplicated for the series.
Bentley B05 Unitime by Breitling
The stunning Bentley B05 Unitime by Breitling is made for those men who travel as naturally as they walk. Featuring a double disc system that permanently displays the time in all 24 time zones and a globe that adorns the black or matt white dial make it a great invitation to travel. Also, because it is meant to be a watch that is not only intricate and beautiful, it is also features an extremely practical part: When changing zones, a turn of the crown forwards or back in one-hour increments adjusts the hour hand, the city ring, the 24-hour ring and even the date in one single movement. This watch is definitely a must-have for the modern world explorer.
Watches make for great accessories to your outfits: they are a status symbol, they indicate attention to detail and they can style up any look. Knowing who you are and what you like is key to finding the right watch for you, but knowing what watches are available and created these days is just as relevant.
