The Giorgio Armani Autumn-Winter 2018 Menswear Collection in Review

Every season, Giorgio Armani keeps impressing us with his staggering collections. When going through the collections that were recently revealed to make our monthly pick, it’s always hard not to stop at Giorgio Armani and look twice. What we love about his collections is that they are bold and masculine, but creative and fun at the same time. They are a great reflection of a man who is mature and strong, but also lively and dynamic.

The giant collection for the autumn-winter 2018 season featured an impressive array of over 90 looks. These were tailored impeccably and looked really amazing on the models who did them justice. The color palette was classic Giorgio Armani: dusty, but regal, rather neutral (navy, black, gray), but polished and really rich. In terms of shapes and cuts, we loved seeing well-fitting clothes with a twist: vests with an unconventional, but wearable shape and crisp jackets dominated the collection.

Of course, suits could not have missed: we saw everything from dressy business suits to elegant double-breasted suits, showing that when done correctly, true Italian style is timeless and always a go-to for a refined and polished man. Subtle patterns added dimension to the collection as well and the evening suits added a dash of elegance to this inspired collection.

Another really great thing about this collection was that it featured not only suits and rather formal looks, but that it proposed a whole wardrobe for the man who wears those suits. Thus, we could see some really impressive sporty pieces, which we can now officially call “athluxury” and some cool casual jackets for going out or even for camping. The use of rich velvet and huge fur collars made the looks look stylish and really expensive.

And, since it was a collection for the cold season, we saw some really impressive coats that will keep you cool during the cool season.

The accessories completed the looks and were stunning: who doesn’t love a nice, big bag?

The collection was both overall and in detail done with extreme care, not only from a technical perspective, but also from a creative point of view. The clothes looked ravishingly polished and elegant and can truly become part of the capsule collections of men who want all the best they can get.

It’s not easy to create stunning collections based on extremely classic pieces, such as pants, shirts and jackets, but Giorgio Armani is a true master at fashion and that is what makes him such an iconic designer.
