Vienna Fashion Week Returns for Its 10th Edition

Vienna Fashion Week, officially called the “MuseumsQuartier Vienna Fashion Week” will return to the Austrian capital for the 10th time this fall. Between the 10th and 16th of September, local designers and their international guests will showcase their latest collections and will put them on display and for sale in the nearby pop-up store.

The long-week event will feature tens of shows, which will include the already-traditional Thai night and presentations from the fashion design schools of Vienna. Moreover, designers like Richard Rozbora from Slovakia and Juan Carlos Gordillo from Guatemala will make their return to the Viennese runway. Household names such as Shakkei, Callisti, Pitour and Anelia Peschev will also be present.

Besides the shows which constitute the heart of the event and the pop-up store where people can buy clothes and accessories not only from the designers who showcase their collections on the runway, but also from many others, this year’s edition will be complimented by the Vienna Fashion Festival. The festival will feature some additional events that will celebrate the design and shopping scene of the Austrian capital.

What started out as a rather small event in the autumn of 2009 has now grown into a powerful local event, which attracts a strong audience. This is why the organizers want for the future editions to bring MQVFW into a new era, where there will be a lot of focus on digital experiences.

Just as the clothes we put on are a great reflection of who we are – of our values, ideas and concerns; a Fashion Week is a great mirror of the spirit of a city, which is why these events are so interesting and important. So, once again, for a week in September, the City of Dreams will show the world who it really is…
