The 2019 Attire Club Style Portfolio: Brandmania

Every year, we create a small Style Portfolio, in which we highlight through custom clothes or accessories what we think is current in the world and in our world. In the past, we focused on t-shirts, bow ties, ties, pocket squares and more. Generally, our style portfolios are custom-made items, but this time around we decided to process some simple items into new pieces.

In this sense, we created a small collection of photographs featuring a simple striped bag featuring the words Attire Club on it and a few big wallets with Attire Club written on them. These were of course done manually.

The play between black and white is a dual reflection: on one side, we wanted to bring to the forefront of the discussion the idea of simplicity, elegance and new art, especially as new brands emerge (a new logomania if you will) and on the other hand to have a rather social take. In this sense, the black and white reflect the strong polarities that unfortunately shape today’s world. Not only is the world of 2019 of no color, but it is also not one of many gray areas. This caricatured view of the world is present almost everywhere these days and we wanted to work with it in our no-color-black-and-white portfolio.

Ultimately, we wanted to make something fun and cool and to focus mostly on the idea of the new culture that is emerging and the fresh logomania, which, in most cases these days, is hand-made. It’s the dawning of a new age, but now, most of the newcomers are just in buds.
