5 Proven Tips for Boost Your Energy

Feeling tired and sluggish throughout the day can greatly impact your productivity and enjoyment of life. Having consistent low energy prevents you from fully participating in work, hobbies, and time with loved ones. Fortunately, there are proven strategies you can use to boost your energy levels and feel more awake and alert.

1. Consume Nutritious Meals and Snack

What you eat plays a major role in your energy levels. Be sure to consume nutritious whole foods at meals and snacks to provide your body with sustained energy. Eat a balanced diet rich in lean proteins, whole grains, fruits, vegetables and healthy fats. Starting your day with a nutritious breakfast high in protein and fibre stabilises blood sugar and prevents mid-morning crashes. Snack on nuts, Greek yoghurt and fresh fruit, which supply key nutrients for energy. Stay hydrated by consuming enough water during the day. Avoid skipping meals, which can lead to fatigue.

2.  Get Plenty of High-Quality Sleep

Sleep is essential for replenishing your mind and body. Adults need 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night. Maintain a consistent sleep routine and limit blue light exposure before bed for better sleep. Make your bedroom cool, dark and quiet. Manage stress levels since anxiety and rumination can disrupt sleep. Avoid caffeine late in the day. Implementing good sleep hygiene will help you wake up feeling refreshed and energetic.

3.  Exercise Regularly

You don’t necessarily need to be at home or at the gym to exercise. You can use your work-out time to connect with nature as well!

Regular exercise is key for fighting fatigue. Aim for 150 minutes of moderate exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous exercise per week. This could include walking, cycling, swimming, strength training and more. Working your body increases blood flow, stimulates the release of energising neurotransmitters and improves sleep. Just be sure not to overdo it initially if you are very sedentary. Start slow and increase duration and intensity gradually. Remaining active will make you feel more alert.

4.  Manage Stress

Chronic stress takes a toll on your energy levels by raising cortisol and interfering with sleep. Make time to relax and decompress each day through yoga, deep breathing, meditation, spending time in nature, or other activities you enjoy. Keep stress in check by organising your schedule, streamlining obligations and saying no when needed. Implement useful time management and productivity hacks to prevent burnout. Talk to a friend or journal when feeling overwhelmed. Prioritising self-care and relaxation will help you better handle daily stressors.

5.  Supplement with Glucose Tablets or Chews

When you feel your energy crash, consuming supplemental glucose in the form of tablets or chews can provide an immediate boost. Glucose is the simple sugar that your body uses for fuel. Some glucose supplements, such as Lift Glucose, contain the perfect amount of glucose for fast energy recovery. Keep a tube in your bag, desk or car for whenever mental or physical fatigue sets in. Simply chew 1-2 tabs when you need a pick-me-up.

Making positive changes to your lifestyle, diet, and supplementation routine can work wonders for your energy levels. Adopting even a few of these strategies will soon have you feeling more energised, focused and productive throughout your day.
