A Roundup of the Best Menswear Looks from Milan Fashion Week Spring 2019

After the British capital, it was Milan’s turn to take the fashion spotlight, as Italian designers and their guests showcased their men’s collections for the spring-summer 2019 season.

Milan is the most classic of the big four and this year it remained true to its spirit. We could see many cool, classic pieces, many of which reinterpreted or reworked in creative ways, but always wearable and stylish.

And that’s what we love so much about MFW; namely that you get to see many great pieces that you could see yourself wearing.

Discover our favorite looks in this Milan Fashion Week Spring -Summer 2019 roundup!

Ermenegildo Zegna

A suit in a fun print is always a great runway presence. Especially when the colors are so elegant and soft as the ones on this Ermenegildo Zegna suit. We loved the contrast between the fun print and the elegant, dusty colors.

Corneliani

How can you say no to an impeccably-tailored double-breasted jacket? Not to mention the great jewel tone of the pants. Add a slip-on shoe to the mix and you are ready to go. This kind of details are the marks of great Italian fashion and we were excited to discover them in the spring 2019 collection by Corneliani.

Versace

We like anything sleeveless, so when we saw this look from Donatella Versace’s collection, we knew we’d like it right away. Granted, it’s a cool vest worn with no undershirt, but it’s a well-crafted, well-though item with catchy details around the shoulders and with an interesting texture. We also liked the pants and see the vest mixed with the short version of the pants, which was presented a bit later in the collection.

Plein Sport

Plein Sport presented one of our favorite collections from the entire Fashion Week. It was fun, practical and cool. For this particular look we like the mix of colors, textures and fabrics. The contrast between the warm sweater and the shorts added balance and dimension to the look.

MSGM

This look by MSGM was peachy. The reason why this look is great is because it is proof of how you can rely a lot on a fabric for a great ensemble and make it work. Sure, the cut and details were there, but the reason why it stands out is because everyone can learn from it that you can make a print the center of your outfits.

Billionaire

When a billionaire goes on vacation, he basically wears… Billionaire. The collection from the luxury brand was once again an amazing style moment. We loved the mix between the rich, elegant fabrics and shapes and the overall relaxed and laid back aesthetic. Besides, we also enjoyed small details such as the matching jacket and tie – not something you see every day.

Pal Zileri

If you’re a student in an Ivy League college and go on vacation to South Asia, this is what you are going to wear. The look is simple and chic and strikes a balance between being formal and relaxed. We also enjoyed the use of burgundy, which is a newfound neutral of the fashion world.

Missoni

Who would have thought that you can create such a good bad boy look with a checkered shirt? Well, Missioni showed us that you can. The look is somewhat retro and follows last year’s trend of face coverings (which continued heavily this year too), but it worked really well. Great job!

Giorgio Armani

It’s hard to do a roundup of Milan Fashion Week without Armani. The latest collection by Giorgio Armani continued the brand’s glam peasant trend and imagined how the new Armani man would dress for a cool summer holiday. It is hard to pick one look as the best of the 80+ look collection, but we chose this one because it combines many cool elements: the asymmetry, the print and the layering, which all worked together like magic.

From Billionaire and Giorgio Armani to Plein Sport and MSGM, there was something for everyone to see and enjoy during this installment of MFW. We’re definitely looking forward to the season and for the clothes to pop up in stores, as there were many pieces that served as great inspiration and caught our attention.
