The Colorful Side of the FW 2013-14 Collections for Men

We recently wrote an article in which we covered some of world’s major brands’ collection for the fall/winter 2013-2014 season. Fashion houses like Brioni, Bottega Veneta, Canali and Corneliani opted for dark colors, or better said neutral colors, like gray, beige, browns and black, broken here and there with the occasional red or burgundy.

In part two, we cover the colorful side of the collections, from Dior Homme, who, even though went on dark colors used really hip designs, to Dries van Noten and Balmain. Some of them had more open designs, other really used colors, patterns and textures.

The fabrics were similar: really expensive and comfortable tweed, leather and expensive cashmere. We loved it that all the designers pushed the envelope really far this season. You might remember our article on the Lacoste collection that really divided fashion bloggers and created a real debate on our blog, but in these collections you can see that the designers are not trying to shock or amaze us by doing something weird, they just take fashion to the next level, making it more sophisticated with the help of extremely fine lines and fabrics, combinations of colors and patterns that are really elegant and filled with thought. We can even say that some of these creations can be considered art. Many of them suggest more than saying, express something through cut and fabric rather than explaining it to us and let us see ourselves in them.  We are pleased with these collections, and here are some of our favorite creations:

P.S. What did you think of the collections? Which set did you prefer, the one with the less colorful clothes or the one with the really colorful ones? Why? And what do you think of those short pants? Share your thoughts in the space below!
