When it comes to style, many men have strategies and try to get themselves a makeover and because they want to do it fast, they skip the basics. Skipping the basics is not a good thing, because then, no matter how hard you try, something will be off and you won’t be able to put your finger on it! So, if you are a rookie, you are in the right place. If you are more of the advanced guy, read the following list and see if you check all the items on the list.
Another problem that can occur is that you might forget one of the first things you need to cover and focus just on the details.
If you follow these rules, you will see an instant change in the way you look and, we assure you, in the way you feel. This is a really hard and fast list, so if you want to read more about these topics, just click around our site.
Some rules have links which lead to detailed articles on the topic!
Putting an outfit together
Do not wear denim jackets with denim jeans!
Thin guys can wear heavy fabrics to appear larger.
Stocky men should avoid wearing heavy fabrics.
Tight clothes on heavy men will make them look bigger and loose clothes on slim men will make them look slimmer. Know your size and wear clothes that are in your size!
The size of your pants and underwear is the size of your waist!
Dress conservative for a job interview. You can wear more colorful clothes if you want to work in the art industry.
Jackets and coats only have their pockets sewn to help hold the line of the fabric in store; when you get home it’s time to unthread.
If you wear more colors, you should have a main color: they should not be in equal proportions.
You always need to have a basic piece and then the others should draw the eye to that one.
Shoes
When you buy shoes, you don’t need to look for that ‘extra room’, as you did when you were a child.
Suits don’t go with casual shoes.
Grooming & Hair
When shaving, always shave in the direction of the grain first.
It’s best to shave after taking a shower.
Shorter men look best in shorter hairstyles. You can choose your hairstyle according to your face shape.
A buzz cut looks better than longer but sloppy hair.
Accessories
If you wear a belt, it should be one number bigger than your waistline!
The size of your accessories should be proportionate to the size of your body!
Your tie must touch your belt line, it doesn’t have to be longer or shorter.
Don’t wear both a belt and suspenders!
You can mix striped shirts with striped ties, if you follow a set of rules.
If you wear a tuxedo, make sure you wear it with a bow tie.
These rules are sure to help you and improve your appearance! Make sure not to forget them and come back to the site for more details!
